Capturing Natural interactions with families is my job!

This family session was such a fun one to photograph as I have known this mama for 15 years. I had the privilege of knowing her years ago before she had children and now to see her as a mother to three is amazing. The resulting images capturing this past week in Fullerton California were absolutely stunning.  One of the biggest blessings of being a family photographer in Orange County is the gorgeous constant sunshine I get to utilize pretty much year round. During the summer, the sun staying high in the sky later allowing more time to capture families making summer the best time to take advantage of the sun. Shooting during the ‘golden hour’ before sunset makes for the pretty backgrounds in these outdoor photos. The sun shines and glows to reflect the love these families have for each other- because there is no love like a family’s love.  The most important part of family sessions like these is to make sure that all of the clothes and accessories compliment each other on the family, and to make sure that they all tie in. This family session was styled by Stevie Cruz Photography studio. When everyone is coordinating, not matching, it brings the entire shoot together. This family’s outfits were so cute-  this session really is a great example of the importance of the family styling. Family sessions are frequently done in pretty natural outdoor areas in Anaheim Hills around sunset for the gorgeous backgrounds, but can also be done in my studio. Stevie Cruz Photography studio has beautiful lighting, too. 

Family sessions are precious to reflect back and see just how much your family has grown and changed. I am humbled when clients choose to decorate their home with images I have captured.

I can’t get enough of these little boys and their sweet sister, you can clearly see in this session how much they mean too each other and how much fun they have together. During a family photo session I tend to stay away from posing you or the kids, because it’s so much more ‘real’ to getting natural pictures of everyone having fun together and doing what your family does best- loving on each other. The pictures turn out beautiful and I can’t wait to see this family of 5 next year for their updated picture session.
